Learning objectives
- Understand and be able to describe how the most common dye combination, hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stains various components of cells and tissues.
- Identify cells and subcellular organelles.
- Relate the appearance of a cell as seen with the light microscope (LM) with that with the electron microscope (TEM, transmission electron microscope).
- Recognize and understand the stages in mitosis.
